Mr. Desch was formerly the Chief Technologist and VP of Engineering at Gogo Business Aviation, the world's leading provider of In-flight Connectivity (IFC) and a pioneer in wireless In-flight Entertainment (IFE) digital entertainment solutions. In this role he led the next generation technology discovery, due diligence, technology roadmap, product architecture and alignment to product roadmap in both the next generation Air-To-Ground (ATG) systems as well as Satellite systems. He also led the development of Gogo's latest generation ST-4300 (multi-channel Iridium system), UCS (cabin IFE, bearer management, content delivery network, router), Gogo OnePhone (android FAA certified smartphone), Air to Ground system improvement and the Text & Talk application for android and iOS among many other achievements.
Mr. Desch's background includes 20+ years of extensive technology, software and systems R&D and production, including serving as Vice President of Engineering and Information Technology at Digital Force Technologies; a defense engineering firm providing rapid, tactical, engineering solutions, and mission-critical technology applications (video surveillance systems - Satellite, Cell, Telecom and RF based) for Special Operations Forces (SOF), Homeland Defense customers, and other US Government organizations.
Mr. Desch has 14 patents & co-patents and is noted for leading the development of Sony's first HDTV's for the US market, while also serving as a member of the Board of Directors for the Advanced Television Technology Center (ATTC) in Washington, DC.
